Finally made some time to get workin on Joe's 86 again. Here's some pics of how it was:

It's been cleaning up very well:
     
Got the shock & linkage installed yesterday. Moving onto the carrier & axle so it will be a roller by this weekend.

It was far dirtier than the first 3 pictures show. The grime that's shown is just what was left over after a quick soap/water wash before tearing the whole thing apart. The frame was done with 2-stage paint so i'm assuming it's polyeurathane. Someone put some love into this R at one time but than it got rode hard & put away dirty... It's going to be really sharp when it's all done.

Thanks for the kind words guys... Now it's down to cleaning the engine & carb & putting them back in & than hopefully have enough time to get the pipe repainted.

Engine's cleaned up & almost ready to go back in. The paint on the cylinder was really bad so i finished removing it than wire brushed it:

The pictures are great but also show with great detail on the reason to not use the clamps shown. You can see how the open design of the clamp is tearing the surface of the hose. This will be even greater when the common silicone hoses are used as they are a softer material. The European design clamps that I like won't do that.

Painted the pipe with VHT flame proof primer & black header paint. The head pipe fit in the oven but not the pipe unfortunately:


Anybody know what pipe this is? There's no markings on it anywhere.

That looks great. And on the brand I'd guess probably CT racing but other than that I have no idea but it looks great
