transmission locked up
« on: March 14, 2020, 08:55:56 PM »
ive asked this question before kind of as a secondary question and never got a reason why it would happen but when i pull in the clutch with the bike running or not the motor completely locks up. if the bike is in neutral its fine and rolls just fine but if its in gear it dosent roll it just completely locks up. but the clutch works like normal and i can ride it without it stalling like the clutch wasnt engaging all the way. when  tool the bike apart i found that the gear on the clutch basket was loose but it had brand new plates and steels in the clutch (it had the same problem with the old plates) and one of you on the other post told me to look at the transmission and see if one of the gears was worn but they all look new. i also replaced the clutch actuator arm and rod. upgraded all that to 88-89 clutch system (its an 86) im not too worried about it if its a clutch problem because im doing all cr125 basket, inner basket and plates with 250r steels. does any one know what could cause this or am i just crazy and this is a normal thing.

Could it be that your clutch cable was out of adjustment?

You have two adjustment points on a clutch cable.  One is at the perch the other is at the clutch actuator right at the stator cover

Yeah tried bolth. It's possible that it was just the clutch basket and the gear being loose on there due to the pads wearing out
