cr flywheel

i found some cr flywheels and i was wondering what the difference is between a 96 and earlier and a 97 and later and also, what is the advantages i kow this is a very commonly asked question and what would a good price point be for one. if i were to get one would i need to get a whole ignition for a cr. i know that i can easily find this information just about anywhere but would just like one of you to elaborate on it a little more. i didnt know where i should post this so i pit it here

What fly wheel is this. It seemes hacked upand its stamped 032000-5830 2fy. Is this oem or cr

Evan, the flywheel you show is a 1987 TRX250R flywheel.

Cr flywheel is lighter. Less rotating mass makes it easier to start and rev quicker. I have yet to see any Dyno results showing increase of hp when using the cr ignition setups. I have never ran one, but there are many who swear by them.

I have used lightened flywheels on banshees and blasters, but I found they would stall out easier when I was heavy on the back brakes. If you are not blitzing corners or you have motor cross forearms, then stalling shouldn't be an issue. I tend to suffer from arm pump, so getting on the clutch can be a challenge during long rides.

That flywheel doesn't look bad, but it does look like someone got creative trying to hold it
