I was following rablacks project as he was developing the new water pumps shafts.  I did not visit the site for a year or two and forgot about his water pump shaft project.  Is he still in the sport?  I have not seen any post from him in the last year?

I have a couple of Ryan's shafts and they're nice.  Looking for OEM specifically for this one.  I see the part number change HA2/HB9 but what actually changed on the shaft?

The early shafts had a male spline that fit inside the impeller.  Then a nut was tightened down to hold the impeller on the shaft. The later shafts don't have the splines and the impeller has an incorporated nut. So you just thread the impeller on and tighten it up. The early shafts/impeller do not interchange with the later shafts/impeller
