Anybody got a set of ESR cases?  Just curious about them and looking for a little feedback.  At the price listed on their website I'm tempted to buy a set and put on the shelf.
Let the good times roll............

I bought a set of the tall cases about 5 months ago and have had no problems with them.

Sorry to bring it up but .net had quite a few replays about the cases. Deck height and center gaskets, counter balancer bore not round, just a couple off the top of my head.

Someone else mentioned that a racer at an event had a full ESR motor cases included. Said he ran good, when it ran and did not complete weekend.

This is just what I have read on the forums.

Sorry Josh, this site does not want biased information. We really don't care what Carlos had to say about them. Were looking for members who have had experience with the new cases. Thanks Tony

My crank is a 5 mil. I believe that the tall cases just eliminate having to use the spacer plate. So I don't think the tall cases can be used with a short rod crank.

That is the info that I was looking for and I have a question for you. Did you do the engine build yourself? Did you use an oem center case gasket and threebond liquid gasket in the tall base section or what did you do for a center case gasket?

The motor was put together by a local builder and all the gaskets were factory oem.

I have a set of the new ESR cases.. for the most part they are pretty good.. I give them a 8 out of 10. The nice thing about them is that you can buy them with a while bearing kit pressed in and ready to go. You do have to alter the cavity for the counter balance a bit to get it in and able to spin freely but that's the only problem for the most part.  The finish is a little bit rough..it just kind of looks like the powder coater was in a hurry .. not a big deal really but just figured I'd mention it. Here's a pic of the new motor build.. should be up in about a month

Edit I got the stock height cases but machined out for a 330 ..so I'll still be running a spacer plate

Tony, I respect .org and you. The issues I brought up was from other members. I did not have Carla in mind. Im Sorry if it came off that way.

I took a dremel  with a cone shaped grinding wheel and about 15 minutes of time... from what I remember it was only on one of the case halves that really needed touching up..

On a side note what island are you on hawaiiysr?  Oahu?

Yes sir I'm on Oahu:) I ride up kahuku, time allowing. Still recovering from a broken wrist so for the time being I'm a forum junky:excitement:

So you didn't have to take much off? I just don't like the idea of having to grind on a new set of cases or sending them out to a machine shop
