So I walk out of the grocery store Saturday morning and see two gentlemen in their late 50's loading up food, charcoal and beer into the back of their truck. I also see that theyre pulling a trailer with a 450R strapped to it. I take it upon myself to go over and chit chat briefly as to where theyre headed to ride and maybe I can turn them on to some better riding in the area that few know about. Heres how unwell the convo went...

Me: 'Goodmorning fellas, beautiful day to be riding, where ya guys riding?'

First guy: "I don't know" (other guy doesn't even notice someone has walked up)

Me: 'you don't know? well it sure looks like your headed somewhere fun'. 'Which one of you owns the 450? It looks pretty nice. Any work done to the engine'?

Second guy: 'Its mine'..'WHO WANTS TO KNOW?'

Me: "I do" (I introduce myself and hold my hand out to shake and the guy turns his back to stuffing more beer in a cooler)

First guy: "I gotta dirtbike"

Second guy turns around and says: "I also got a fourtrax 250r bored 150 over at home"

Me: 'Is that a fact, I have a 250R too, what year?"

Second guy: "Does it really matter? I know its nicer than what you probably have"

I then go on to inform (in a non boasting manner) him of what exactly I do have and I can see that he has no clue what im talking about.

Me: 'Ya guys ever been to Hankys Pond or Hopkins Park?" (these are 2 very little known prime spots just a hop skip and jump away and are my usual haunts)

Second guy: "Ever been to Pismo Beach or Glamis? Huh? Well I have!!"

Me: (having had enough of this one-upmanship, which I have never been about) "Listen you ****tard, I didn't walk all the way over here to play a game of whos got what, where weve been or what color panties you have on, ya dig"!! "I walked over here to see if you two wanted to join me at some prime locations in the area that you don't know about because people don't speak of them! I honestly couldn't give a rats ass where you've been or what you THINK you got sitting in the garage at home?" "However since youre a complete asshole and waste of my time, I should've walked away after I introduced myself and you turned your back" "You guys have a wonderful day and enjoy the weather".
(end of conversation)

I guess that's what I get for trying to be somewhat cool and maybe let these guys in on a good spot to ride other than their dead grandfathers bean filed.

Anyone ever run into someone like this and just wanna kick their teeth in? The convo above doesn't sound as bad as it was cuz when ever this pinhead spoke, he did so like a toddler saying "I know you are but what am I".

Dude, it really bothered me that I even attempted to talk to this guy as long as I had. This guy had no clue how quickly I could make him swallow his teeth. Talk about people who have no social skills what so ever! I don't know how many people ive met and talked to about riding due to the fact they have a quad or dirtbike in their pickup. I would say hundreds of people and its always been a pleasure due to the fact off roaders love going off roading and are always the nicest people you'll want to run into. Anyway, there wont be a couple new guys added to our group next weekend that's for sure. Sorry for the rant.

They sound like some sketchy individuals. I wouldn't get to worked up about it. The quad was probably stolen or something.

Not worked up about it. I guess at 41 years old, im still surprised and shocked at the ignorance of some people. Especially when people with common interests meet. I doubt the quad was stolen, ive seen it around neighboring towns with the same dudes pulling it.

All I can say is.....wow. There is one thing you can always count on, and that is the du*chebaggery of people. Common courtesy is not so common anymore. Some days you will have that. At least you found out real fast, they weren't worth the time of day.

No disrespect to you Drewski since you are from Illinois but that is very typical of Chicago area people.
Now don't get me wrong I have meet allot of great people from Illinois that do not fit this stereotype but I swear they think if you from Wisconson Indiana or Michigan you live on a farm or dont have a pot to piss in and some how that makes them better than you.
We just call them FIP's *ucking Illinois People

I run into it at the track a lot. Everytone I go over and talk to, for the exception of a few are pretty much the same way. Their quad is better, they are a better rider or, like you said, they just ignore you. It's their loss and I say F-em!

Thats hillarious,being from Illinois,I have found that to be true also. Like you said its not all,Ive ridden with a few down to earth riders,but theres more rude than not. Seems to be the same with the dirt bike guys towards quad guys. When we get local guys to do Monster Jam shows with us the all seem to be that way,they always think they are a "pro rider" or have done it all and owned it all.

Yeah, down here the dirt bike guys piss and moan about us "quad guys" tearing up "their" tracks. They whine and say we flatten their ruts in the turns. God forbid they have to use skill to make turns instead of training wheels.....I mean cheater ruts......I mean ruts....lol.

These old timers had nothing to be proud about, trust me. That's what really rubbed me the wrong way. Most folk down here (I live in the sticks and these guys are somewhat local) aren't like that at all. Maybe (because of their attitude) its been a decade since someone approached them and actually tried striking up a conversation and they didn't know how to react other than the way they did. I wasn't whining that they didn't bow to their knees and kiss my feet. Just the rudeness got to me on the drive home. Especially when I originally had intentions of showing them some sweet ride spots.

Some peoples kids. I would've told him he needs to sell his R, cuz no ass queens are allowed to own those units. And then said "glamis huh? Surprised your dumb ass found your way back to camp. By the way, your 450 is a stock POS queerbait." and walked away.
Now thats not the Christian way to react, and its not my place to "smite" them. But i would've blown up too.

If I had walked up and tried that conversation I probably would have ended it a little earlier. Only because I can only picture myself in one of the other guys positions if I was having a bad day and late to where I was going. I try to always play advocate for another side first before I come to a conclusion. But if it looked to me like that was'nt the case, then I probably would have walked away shaking my head.
I had a similiar encounter with another driver at an intersection. We both aproached a four way stop intersection at the same time. We both started to go and then we both stopped. I waved him on so he then went and flipped me the bird as he went buy. I then went through the intersection and in about 200ft I wanted to turn around and rip his head off. I didnt but wow..... That made me mad.. Then about ten minutes later thinking more it made me laugh how mad I got.
