trying to put some methanol to this engine but i hit a snag with the bowl. gotta grind alittle out of the rubber boot so the carb can slide in but appears to have good clearance on all sides from what i can tell.  the only bowl i have is the 2 inlet that sticks way out the left side and that aint gonna work. hits the shock bad. im wondering if the packard billet bowl would do the job. anybody have one of the packards they could measure the depth ?  like the red arrows in this pic

heres what i got going

You need the dual inlet bowl from cp.  Packard sells it.  There is a special one cast just for the R that has the corner of the bowl relieved to clear the case.  Not cheap though.

If all else fails remove one of the floats and run the stock plastic bowl and a pump.  Always a good idea to pump meth anyway IMO.

i got the cp 2 inlet bowl already. the corner aint cut though. but im sure it wont work anyways because how much it hits the shock. im thinkin the packard bowl might work if i can get the depth measurment and double check i got that much clearance between the bottom of the carb and cases.

Yeah..two styles exist.  One for the R and the other for all other setups.  Do you plan on running a pump?

Anyone looking for a great builder I highly recommend the following.
For CP products dealers I would recommend:
Arlan at LED(site sponsor), Pete Schemberger at Hybrid Engineering, Mat Shearer at Shearer Custom Pipes, Dennis Packard at Packard Racing, and Nate McCoy of McCoys Peformance.

Other great builders I also would recommend: Neil Prichard, Jerry Hall, Bubba Ramsey and James Dodge.

naw that cp bowl for the R wont work. problem is i cant have anything sticking out the left side because the shock is in the way. gonna dig alittle more and get the measurements of the billet bowl and see if that will work. i know it will have plenty of clearance for the shock, just gotta make sure its not too deep and hit the top of the crankcases. the intake on this engine goes straight in to the jug, giving limited clearance between the bottom of the bowl and crankcases. hondas are angled down which tilts the carb up so theres alot of room between the bottom of the bowl and cases

No need to dig...just call Packard.  He'll gladly measure one if he doesn't know already.

Just run the stock bowl with 1 float like previously suggested, I really think you will be fine

In all seriousness I ran a 45 Lectron with one power valve and one float removed.  Also flipped the float to allow for even more area in the bowl and it was fine.  I also drilled the vent through on the stock gas cap.  This was with the stock pet pack also.
