450R 'half' swingarm skidplate on Roll Lobo No-Link
« on: June 21, 2014, 12:09:47 PM »
I just purchased a Roll No-Link swingarm and it has an extra set of skidplate mounts in between the front and rear. It came with a standard aluminum skid but it has heavy wear from the sprocket/chain and would not survive the type of rocks I race through. I am wondering if one of the heavy duty stainless ones from a 450R would work. I am OK with drilling or bending the skid plate to get it to work. Can someone that has a 450R swingarm measure the width and length spacing between the 4 rear skidplate mounting holes? This will tell me if the 450R 'half' skid has enough material to work on the Roll swinger. Here is a picture of the Roll swinger mounts and skidplates I'd like to use (Teixeira or ARSFX). Thanks

When I head out in the garage later today, I will get some measurements for you. Just by looking at your swing arm though, it looks like the rear most holes are to far forward, and the distance between rear and middle holes is much closer together then a 450R setup. Will do some measuring later today and let you know what I find.

Measured my OEM 450R swing arm. The rear mounts are about 3 7/8" apart, the middle mounts are about 4" apart, and the distance from the rear to middle mounts is about 6 3/8" apart.

Thanks for the info! That's a little further off than I thought it would be, the Roll mounts are 4 3/8" W X 4 1/8" L

I would think you'd want to protect your lower shock mount too. Can you add to the one that came with it? Those skids are hard to fab.

Yeah I was thinking adding some UHMWPE if I went with the 450R skid to protect the shock mount. I may end up just using the aluminum one and run a sprocket guard and reinforce the rotor guard somehow.
