I'm not planning on reducing my 250 to a 200. I'm just interested in the performance of the Wurks pipe in general as I'm getting a Sphynx cylinder and will be in the market for a pipe.  As they say, there is no replacement for displacement so I wouldn't expect even the best 200 to keep up with a 250, especially a modified one.  I read somewhere that Jimmy White and others started the small-bore 2 stroke trend because they wanted to test tires and get in extra practice time.  I love old-school rebuilds too but I'm not a purist.  I'll use old-school parts when I can find them but it is a little too frustrating hunting them down, paying top dollar, etc.  To each his own.  I'm glad the old-school purists are out there because I enjoy seeing their builds.

Thing is even at the 2011 mxdn Ken Roczen blitzed through the field of 250/450 even passing dungey who was on a 450 and chasing down reed who was on a 450. KTM did not place an add saying that their 250 ran like a 450 because they don't. A 200 won a micky thompson race with a inverted field fast guys in the back true. One thing about mickeys and the promoter did it for a show. They awarded passing points toward the championship to get the riders, drivers and teams to agree to it. So high point man was possibly not the winner on the night but the winner on the night was scored at the stripe. mickeys were also a lot of times very one lined and sticky for the trikes. They had to keep the dust down for the trucks and a atc that cant get loose in the turns ends up no fun follow the leader.  My post wasn't about anything that you have ever posted. as a matter of fact you are the perfect person for rob to make some of these for. I have just seen them explained a little different then reality at times and being that I know some fun facts I was just sharing.

Sweet Wurks pipe!  What did it cost and how does it perform?  I'm thinking about getting one for my ATC 250R and would like some feedback before I commit.

chrisph, you were conversing with an imposter who has left the building.
Bye Elvis! :q8z8M:

I applaud your info and views. Tight, one lined tracks do have consequences.

The end result was worth the wait Andy.  I absolutely love this quad.  Will you be taking any video of it running?

trx88, Those are 80's ohtsu race tires used by team honda back in the day. Most were available through your local honda dealer but the team always had custom testing tires.

I remember back in the Day when I was working for Honda they were practically giving those tires away.......I think they were selling them for 20.00 a piece (Dealer Cost)...I used the heck out of them when I ran the 86 Atc250r Flattrack racing....

I might go the Baja look next for fun. I have a old RAM stearing stabilizer to put on and then a set of Baja Design lights and bigger tank. I've got a couple Lance Schoonmaker tanks, but they require trimming the frame's front OE tank tab and hacking up to a set of front fenders. That's a little more than I really want to do right now. So leaning on just this Clarke for the time being.

The bike looks awesome! Your attention to detail is unreal. I know the rears are maier fenders but are the front maiers also? If they are maiers how hard is it to put a oem hood on them? The way you trimmed it around the fuel shutoff they scream oem fenders. The only thing that gives them away is the mount on the side and the vents on the side.

Thanks a lot guys!
Stroberts,
The fronts are Maiers as well. I will try to snap a couple pics of my mounting work. The OE (blue) hood is quite simple, but the lower black nose air scoop is a bit more work. Pics to come......

Here is the OE Honda hood mounted up to the Maier front fenders using Honda harwdware from the underside.

The only Maier hardware I used was the two pre-bent short bars that go from the stock frame bolt hole to the Maier drilled hole on each upper side fender. The black lower air scoop isn't held on by much, but holds solid and attaches to the frame via the rubbers on frame posts. I had to relief cut the top (hidden) edges to accommodate the angled Maier metal bars. Again I used Honda harware on the bars instead of the suplied Maier screws/nuts. An OE Honda threaded clip and screw looks and operates a little a cleaner IMHO. I also used a anticrush washer/sleave to bush the plastic's raw edge on eah side fender. These pics should help make sence of my rambling...
