Author Topic: Goldspeed Beadlocks or Hiper beadlocks (Read 5452 times)

I am looking for a full set of beadlocks. I really like the tech 3 hipers but at 800 bucks thats not happening. I can get CF1 Hipers for 599 or Goldspeed locks for $585. I have heard mix reviews on hipers and not sure Im sold on the hipers/

Any help or reviews would be helpful.

Never had either so I'm not sure if this helps but I'm really impressed with my DWT's. Ever thought about OMF? I know those are also very expensive but from what I hear they are worth it.

I did look at the DWT's but the fronts in my opinion look terrible with the webbing look. I heard they are good wheels for the money.

What kind of riding are you looking to do?

I got mine from Matt @ Highland for $600. Tech 3 rear and CF1 fronts and they hold up to GNCC racing just fine

ive never ran bead locks but i have had my hands on 2 or 3 sets of hipers as well as dwt's the hipers are crazy expensive and are really really heavy. much heavier than dwt. they also come apart in a few pieces and have many places they ca leak from. dwt (or any aluminum really) are cheaper, lighter, and do not comp apart like the hipers. when the day comes for me to get beadlocks hipers arent even on my radar. just my honest opinion

The gold speeds seem to be the hot new thing but they haven't been proven enough to make me switch from my DWT's. I got the champion in a box kit and haven't looked back. Can't beat them for the price IMO and they're made in the USA.

I have cf1a hipers & really like them. The only issue though it they leak by the lugnuts, where the stud goes in.
It leaks like that on only two of them, & the otheres two are fine. Probably going to get hipers on my mx built banshee next

I've run a full set of tech 3 hipers for over 5 years now. Bought them used and the tires only loose 2 pounds over the winter. If you find a used set watch the bolts that hold the ring on. They can sometimes seize and spin, then you need to buy a new half and or possibly a new ring. Antiseize is your friend when you put them back together.

Thanks for all the input guys. I wont be doing any hardcore MX racing, This thing will mainly be a duner so I need two sets of wheels (1-sand tires, 1-Hoosier tires). I found Alba makes a decent looking beadlock in the size I need 8x8 and best part is $310 for a set. I might just go that route. Like I said I really dont need the best of the best for the style riding I will be doing.

I use Hipers on everything. As long as you follow their specified torque specs you will have no issues w leaks. They are a high quality wheel that can take a lot of abuse.
