38MM PWK Slide Sticking
« on: August 05, 2022, 07:28:02 PM »
 Hi there!

Recently just got my hands on a 38MM PWK from facebook and upon assembly of the carb after cleaning it entirely I noticed the slide was sticking. It doesnt move freely up and down and I would like to know why that is? I have added oil to the slide and still sticks. I have uploaded two video for you guys to see and if I could get some feedback. I appreciate it!

Is the needle bent? Remove it and see if the slide is free

I just checked and the slide still gets stuck. What else could it be?

Check movement without the spring.  Binding from the spring?

Still gets stuck without the spring and without the needle. Any of other possible causes?

Sounds like maybe there's a bad spot on the slide. Look for rub marks in the carb & on the slide. Maybe around the top where the wall of the slide is thin it got bent.

That slide looks warn out to me with the chrome plating completely worn through in places.

I have had this same issue on a 34mm PJ and replacing the slide fixed the problem for me.
