How do these compare with regular shifters when racing?

can't really answer your exact question about the racing part.....typically guys run a shorter shifter due to having a smaller boot size.

Some pro-pegs (most I think)  1 inch back of stock location. I have AC pro-pegs with a -1 "shorty" prodesign shifter. So it basically puts the shifter back into stock distance from the peg. I will say also if you are going from a stock shifter to a Prodesign or Roll design, it has a much better positive feel, less flex.

Thanks for the info. I was riding around saturday and thought about it. I don't have a problem with my stock one, but always looking for something to make it easier.
