The tiny 1 inch of surface area in contact with the stator cover part of the case (and the bolt mounts) that would bear the force of a chain derailment/jam isn't nearly enough. This spreads it across the entire area

I saw that the backside requires much machining after the next post with the pic of the backside. That puts me out of the job. I was then thinking a thinner one about 1" thick. In any case the answer is to keep a new chain on. I have not broke a case in 10 years.

seems like injection molding would be the cheapest easiest way to go on something like this
