My buddy just bought plastics and a carbon fiber hood but someone painted the hood. Can the paint be removed some how with out damaging the hood?

Ha ha ha try a little gas on the back side see if it does anything to the carbon fiber if not use that if its spray paint it should come off also mineral spirits

Start sanding. Wet sand then reclear it. Should come out cherry

the only problem with this is ...when the carbon fiber is molded they actually applied the clear to the mold first then the other materials, which gives it its deep looking shine, the same way its done when gel coating a boat, the clear is part of the coating, not just a cover,

and will never look quite as nice as the original clear coating,,,
I would try non abrasive methods before sanding , but it that fails your left with little other options

If the paint isn't very thick you could wet sand the paint off with 1000-1200 grit and then buff the original clear. If not then what Hawaiiysr said.

You can reglaze it after you wet sand. (Apply another coat resin) still your going to have to wet sand then buff. One way or another you need elbow grease to make it look pretty. Good luck n have fun:)
