I decided I want to try out some ice races this winter and want to start working on the setup now so if you have or know anyone that has a set of studded tires they're looking to get rid of let me know. Also looking for any information on how to set a quad up. Thanks, Jake

Just fine a set of old turftamer rears and some radial fronts, and goto James lucky and order the ice studs for the tires. Your set up if its just a oval is similar to tt, you can but don't have to run a swaybar and I would find a durablue rear lowering link and set your quad up low to go fast and corner good. Don't know much more a friend of mine use to do it a lot but I haven't heard from him in some time, its like he fell of the planet.

I've got some turf tamers around here somewhere I think. Seems like there is a lot of different setups for tires and no one really wants to talk about them. Lol but I was kind of thinking some Cheng shin rears would be the way to go. I'll have to look into the studs I think I can get them through my dads shop at his cost. Already have the durable link and my front a arms have three different shock mounting positions if I need to use them. I'm gonna be using the blue 250 that I raced at the fair supercross race this year. Got some work to do to it but I think it will be better suited for this type of track. It's kind of looking like its gonna be a hard winter so I might as well have some fun. Thanks for the advice Jamie

I have somr front tires that havr the screw in studs if ur intrested

don't use old tires ...you don't want to go through all the time of studding to have uneven wear or damage,

ya there is a lot of different methods of amount of studs on one side of tires for turning, or direction of the stud,
but its like setup what feels good for one might not work for others,
if it were me I would buy a set already studded and see how it feels and if you even like being out in minus 10 degrees with a 40 mile an hour wind in a studded quad induced hail storm,
you might not even like the conditions enough to waste upwards of 20 hours building your ideal tire

That's the way I was thinking too. If I buy my first set already studded then I can learn how I want to build my own. And I love not being able to feel my face, fingers, and toes so I think I'm ready for it. Lol in all seriousness I plan to buy a new snow suit and sno cross helmet and goggles so I think I'll be good.
Think they would let me ride with one of these?

Ive got a set of cheng shins with one screw in each interior tread block and two screws in all the outer tread blocks. I have thought about selling them since there really aren't many chances to use them around here. You're welcome to try them out if you're anywhere close or want to cover the shipping.
