Here is my new 89 LT 250R. I know, it’s not a TRX but it’s still way cool. As you can see it’s fully stock and in great condition. Over the years I developed a negative opinion of LT’s because of posts here and there and just the dominance of the TRX. I must say, however, I’m really impressed with its engine, suspension, and handling. The engine, especially, just rocks. It has a strong bottom end and an amazing top end. Its power valve (which changes exhaust back pressure rather than exhaust port height) works really well. If you’ve considered getting an LT 250R but have hesitated because of negative press—don’t. You’ll be as pleasantly surprised as I am. Here are some pictures.

Regardless of it not being an R, I think it's safe to say there's something wrong with anyone that doesn't like that! So clean and fresh!!

Looks freakin awesome. If the motor runs good I am sure you will be happy. 250cc 2 stokes have plenty of power no matter which brand.

Nice looking lt man, I actually have one in the garage thats a friends of mine and I am redoing the motor for him.

Thats a nice, clean lt. I've got a 91lt that I bought new. Its been thru hell and is getting a well deserved resto next year.

Suzuki did make some huge improvements when they went to the 6-speed setup. The first generation of LT250R was outclassed by the TRX250R but the second generation made up some ground. I always heard and believed that LT500R's were tanks and couldn't be ridden with any sort of agility, but my dad recently picked one up and they are actually quite fun and nothing like what I had believed them to be. Your LT is quite impressive. Nice quad!

Wow very nice quad. TRX250R or not....it's a 2-stroke so i'm a fan. I wouldn't mind adding a Quadzilla to the stable

i would love to have a stable filled with all the 2-stroke quads and trikes. the lt250r would be on the short list for sure.

That's a great looking quad racer. I've got an 87 LT, 88 TRX, 87 Tecate, and a couple banshees. Of all my vintage quads, I feel like the LT front end has the worst geometry. It seems long and narrow, and it turns like a long wheel base truck. Then there's the well known bump steer issue. I modded mine to accept some Z400 +2 a-arms and YFZ450 shocks last winter. It was a great improvement. Enjoy your new, classic quad.

very nice lookin LT ive owned several and there engine in many ways has just as much potential as an R but even though they were made for more yaers the aftermarket never picked up on them at the same level as the R the big issue ive seen on numerous LT250 s is the front end not only is it slightly inferior from a handling aspect they are way under built the fron frame needs to be braced if your going to rise it hard. 2 of the LTs ive owned i bent the front end on the other 3 all got jp outlaw frames as soon as i could get them here. congrats on a fine piece of history.
