For sale or trade K&T ported 330+4mil cylinder
« on: November 04, 2013, 08:45:22 PM »
So this new motor I bought turns out to be more towards the top end of my preferred RPM range and I want to change it. It really rips, it's just I was wanting more midrange and less flip over backwards power. I crudely checked the port timing and came up with 194 on the exhaust and 130 on the boost/transfer ports. Its set up for 4 mil stroke and has Race gas dome and new style wiseco piston. It has right at 8 gallons of sonoco 110 through it, 3 of those were breaking in. If there is interest I can post video, and the bike it still together running if someone wanted to check it out in person.

I would rather trade for a low-mid ported cylinder but I know its going to be a long shot finding someone else with a 4 mil 330. So I guess I'll set a price at 650 shipped (to lower 48) and see if there are any nibbles. This would include head, cylinder, spacer, head and base nuts, and piston and rings only.

Yep, that's my lil ole motor. That's cheap as he'll for that top end. You shouldn't have issues with selling for that price. Just the port work was 350$.

I'm honestly on the fence about getting rid of it because it pulls like crazy, but it just doesn't fit my riding style.  I had more fun in the dunes on my mostly stock 88 bike because it had a wider power band and was just easier to ride. It was a ball to drag race though.

I would also consider selling the complete motor as well if there is any interest.

Yeah we have been sending PMs back and forth. Just can't decide what to do right now, been trying to weigh all my options.

On the sphinx, the way the cylinders come, it would either end up being a 331 or a 363. They don't have a 76 X 76 option.

Well it's hard to price.  I know what I have in it but it has a few hours on it now. Good thing is it's in the bike still and someone could come check it out. I also have video of it ripping up the dunes.   I really can't see letting it go for less than 1650 + shipping.

I pulled the cylinder because I had/have a possible trade going, and it still looks very nice, very little wear to speak of.

Compression kicked 200psi.

This also comes with a pump gas dome, but it would need to be machined for the extra stroke.

hey i got a question about the piston. does wiseco cut the rectangle shape or you do it yourself ?  gonna do some cutting on one of mine.  just kicking around ideas what would be most effective and give the least amount of cracking risk but im leaning towards the rectangle shape like what you got vs other types of holes.
to much power is almost enough

The piston is the new style from Wiseco, as far as I know that's how it comes, I did not change it.
