I need a new one as the old one wore out.. Mainly used for ball joints and sprocket hubs.  

What size do you guys like for this kind of use (face size and weight (oz))?

I have a set of Stanley beadblow hammers  18 0z to 58 0z.   I use them all.   best hammer for the money.  I also have a set of mac beadblow ballpein hammers from 8 oz, to 32 oz  I only use deadblow hammers ..

picked them off  of ebay,, one at a time .. bought some new some used ,,

I ended up with a Trusty-Cook deadblow hammer.  Very nice.

that's funny,,, I also have a set of those,, not as nice as Stanley on the finish part,,  but I have them in the garage at home not work,,  I bought a set of Stanley hammers off ebay and the guy sent the trusty cook hammers,,,  rather than battle to get the right ones I kept them,,,,

Not surprising considering Trusty Cook makes/made dead blows for major tool companies at one point.. they even sold the original design to Stanley apparently.  A polyurethane handle is pretty much a polyurethane handle in my eyes.. so you must have an acquired taste for that :D

yeah the shape of the Stanley is way more comfortable,, I had the take the sander to the cooks,,, they didn't even clean up the casting ports or the lines,,  DOH'
