lets talk over size tank and stem height
« on: February 14, 2014, 08:58:45 AM »
Im pretty sure im going to go with a IMS tank and right now i have a stock length stem. Im pretty sure itll look bad having the OS tank with the stock length stem but im not sure how how id like a extended stem as far as feel goes. Do we all agree the stock length stem looks bad with the OS tank? Im 5'11, will i really notice the longer stem?

I have a IMS tank with a +1+1 stem, I'm 5'10" and it's perfect I think.

I had a stock stem with a big tank. It worked ok. But I have super high handlebars on it.

Ok so functionally the stock length stem works. Still stuck on the look not being right. If you guys have pics with a 4 gal tank and STOCK length stem please post them. I may end up trading my red houser stem for an extended one based on the look

Victor, another option for you (at a smaller investment to see if you like the height) is a Rox riser.... they also make anti-vibe risers for about double the price of these....

I have an IMS 4 gal. tank also and a nice chrome LSR stock length stem and I think when I mount them up I'm gonna try this route also...

i think im gonna try the xc race in union ct this spring(NECCRACING). I just got my bike stripped to the frame and now i need to blast it and hit tony up for a gusset kit before i powder it. I also need new tires front and rear before i race which isnt a big deal but i need to get a few go fast parts for my car first...

I guess I am not 100% sure what brand this big tank is.  I did move the tank back a little and spaced the steering stem forward a little.  It doesn't fit too terrible but definately not for a show quad.  I have a +1 +1 stem to put on here when I get around to it.  This is a stock length lonestar anti vibe.

Its hard to get a picture in my head how mine would look with those bars you have! I believe my pro tapers are atv mid bends but its been awhile. Perhaps my best route is to first put the tank on with my stock length houser stem and see if i like it...

I had to cut plastics to fit around tank, but other than that I like the fit and look. Not as high as older ims or Clarke tanks.
