This was brought up in a different conversation, but this has got me really curious. Has anyone ever tried one of these?
http://efmautoclutch.com/index.shtml

They say they can make one for any machine. I know this was talked about a little bit a few years ago on the other site. I would really like to hear from someone who has tried one of these. Seems like it would be pretty awesome to have. It also dramatically reduces the effort required to use the clutch. Sounds like a sweet deal.

Sounds like a Rekluse.

It is very similar to a Rekluse but they don't offer a Rekluse for a 250R.

I know, that was one of the first things I looked for when I purchased my R.  Looks to be in the same price range though.

I have been emailing back and forth with a guy named Garry from EFM. He said they can set one up for us for $695. All they need is your clutch basket. They prefer a stock clutch basket, but can also do aftermarket. This seems like it would be pretty sweet to have one of these. I know in mx racing, I use the clutch alot around the sharp 180° turns. Seems like it would be pretty cool to not have to manually use the clutch anymore unless you wanted to.

interesting concept. I am half way through installing a rekluse Z start Pro in my cr500 motor in my 250R frame. I didnt realize they didnt offer anything for the 250r. I would think the EXP or some other configuration would be available for our 250R bikes.

I thought the 450r clutch baskets etc fit the 250r cases for some reason, that people could swap out to newer parts by going with the 450r clutch stuff and then running the rekluse EXP or z start pro in the 450 basket. probably confusing the cr500 stuff now but i thought both the cr500 and 250r baskets were similar sizes and interchangable.

edit*** just throught about it; have you ever heard of the Revlock? google it, rekluse and revloc had it out in court and revlock lost. they used similar technology but the revlock was basically a clutch pack that expanded (IIRC) that you just swapped out 3 or 4 clutch disks from your stock clutch and installed this in its place. youtube video revloc, their videos were still up last i saw. they advertised that you could make 'any bike' an auto clutch. when i was shopping for my rekluse i came across a company called enduropilot.com and after speaking with the owner found out he still buys up an old stock people have from revlock and has them available for sale. i dont know, worth calling and asking the guy, they were like 300 bucks for the revlock clutch pack

Even at 300.00 it would be worth it.

Call Tom at Enduropilot , I would be he will cut you some kind of deal because he probably still has stacks of revlocks laying around. look those up, it was a great concept. the EXP from rekluse is similar from what i know and pricewise should be about the same.

Anybody know if TRX 250r clutches are the same as any other bike, like the CR 250R? If so, there are several models that would work.

From what I've seen thus far, No.  I hope I'm wrong though.

I talked to this company. http://www.efmautoclutch.com/
I emailed back an forth with an engineering manager. He said they can make them for our 250R no problem. It does require the use of a quick change clutch cover for clearance.

What do they need to make them? Do they need a clutch set up to use?? Just wondering...really interested.  I rode a 450 with o e and really liked it. Bit haven't bought one since the gf rides it now :)

I wonder if an ESR quck change would work.

The ESR ones will work. I asked them this specifically as that is what I have. They require your clutch setup: clutch plates, fibers, and and clutch basket.
