ain't too happy ,need another pipe
« on: April 30, 2014, 10:55:32 PM »
I was in the talks with another member to trade pipes ,I tried all day to take my pipe off
I used a torch ,pb blaster ,and a mallet,no go ,then I hit the pipe so hard with a rubber mallet ,I put a huge dent in it ,so I decided to grind it off

So I'm looking for a oof frame pipe ,or a trx11 CM ,I have a silencer just need the cm trx11
Nothing perfect ,I'm not picky ,just needs to work
Thanks

Wow, I did something like this once to a PT pipe. Where the tapered  cone section came together, I had glued it with the high temp sealer. It would not come apart. Ended up using the cut off tool to slice the cone. Then was able to get it to free up. A dremel tool where the pipes come together would have saved the pipe.

That stinks ported. If you can get it apart now that its out of the frame and you can attack it in new ways someone can weld it up and it will work fine. Maybe its not a total loss yet...

Yup if you've been around 250R's long enough, you will have encountered this at some point!  I once hit a pipe a little too hard trying to break the sealant (maybe it was the frustration :D) and left a nice dent.  But that was just a Sparks TT pipe so I sold it on Craigslist and bought another new one back in '08!  Had a similar experience with a Paul Turner Eliminator 98 but that turned out much better after bracing the pipe and tying one end to a cemented pipe and the other end to the John Deere - it came apart with ease.
