2nd Gear Countershaft Bearing

Can anyone get ahold of these things anymore?  Needing the bearing (bushing) that 2nd gear rides on.  Curious if the CR250 one is similar in size?  Assuming it's just babbit material, could always machine one but yikes.

The OEM ones are hard, a carbide cutter wont hardly touch it in a lathe, so if your going to make them, got to be some hard material before & after machining.

I believe number 7 on that assembly view?  Mine distorted and smashed onto the shaft when 2nd gear blew apart like I would expect babbit or a softer material to do.  Is 3 to the right of that maybe what I'm thinking of or is that the little rubber seal?  I'm pretty sure it's what second was running on though.  Wish I had a picture of it.  Not trying to question you, just worried what was in there now!

Theres no number on them, but to the right of #7, is #27 then the case seal, the little thin rubber shaft seal you mentioned & then the case seal race & sprocket spacer bushing.
If # 6 gear busted, then what does # 8 gear look like after it digested some of the pieces.

One other thing we should all take note of while here, a 250R takes a special front sprocket, one that is of the proper thickness to take up the space between that sprocket spacer & the washer & bolt holding it in place.
If a cheap aftermarket sprocket is used, then they are thinner than the proper sprocket & will allow the counter shaft to have end play while in use. Now think what is happening if that shaft has end play & your trying to shift a gear.

Have you tried Service Honda?

Honda East Toledo?
Motosport?
Rocky Mountain?

Search around some of the OEM parts dealers and see if they have one

I think #5 is completely ruined and #8 may be too, I'll have to check which gears were which.  I'm pretty positive it's #7 that got hurt because the #6 gear split into like 4 pieces and you could see where the gear bore broke and pushed into the OD of that bushing in several places while it came apart.  Maybe it's a real tough machining material, like machining yellow brass can destroy drills/cutters.

I'm assuming that's a second hand only kind of part to replace though?

Yeah been looking for a while, everywhere I've tried so far doesn't offer them anymore.
