won't run

Was out riding today and lost high rev and idled for a minute and quit. Now it kickbacks real bad and won't stay at idle. Where do I look first?

I don't think this is your problem but because it takes little effort I would drain gas from carb bowl to make sure it doesn't have water in it.the clip coming off needle will cause no rev but they will idle,sheared key on flywheel could cause kickback,bad stator would act like a jetting issue   and bad cdi usually wont run at all,bad ground could cause all problems
