No but have seen them out for a while, I have said this many times in the past that the 2000 cr125 is a great box. I have a guy in Sweden I built a Liger for running it on premium pump gas with no problem, he took the cr250 cdi off because of how much better it ran on the street and the Dyno.

Thanks for the information.  I'll be in the market for a CR ignition this summer and am looking at my options.  Considering a used 2001 CR 250 system just went for 450 on ebay, these prices aren't that bad.  My only concern is that I've read that OEM is always better than aftermarket when it comes to CDIs and ignition systems generally.  It looks like the regulatorrectifier.com people offer a lighting stator setup for $140--that's half OEM!

I'm wondering what's the difference between the CR 125 and CR 250 CDIs in terms of power delivery?  Does one offer more low end, top end, what?

I don't like to call it power delivery, its more of a retard and advance question. The advance is different between 125 and 250 for different RPM's. You would have to ask Dave [MENTION=105]rsss396[/MENTION] for a good explanation of how to use the 125 verses the 250.

I had two 01 CDIs and did just as you said above.  Bought the entire CR stator through the CR kill switch brand new.  One from service honda and the other from honda toledo east.  I've seen the used setups without the cdi go for more than new...crazy.  I was very curious about this aftermarket one.  Doesn't sound like anyone has tried it yet.

I would be very carefull with non OEM and fake OEM cdi's (brainbox). You don't want to deal with any wishy washy problems going on here.

Motors with a mid to top style porting normally will benefit from more advance ign timing, I plan on testing the 00cr125 also on my bone stock 88 bike here in a few weeks. I do not expect any issues going by past experiences with ignitions that are advanced. MSD Enhancer and old LRD ignitions ran but loads of advance back in the day.

sorry but i have not tested the 125 box yet, i have just been running the 00 cr250, I just have not had the time this year for riding.
