Nice build Mickkey!
on the UPP boots I had a issue with a couple saber/liger boots falling apart but I really do not think alcohol was the problem
the very first boot I had was the typical style UPP boot being very thick and stiff. When I was widened the inside of it I ground the rubber back far enough on one side to expose the aluminum plate. Everything was fine until the end of the season when the rubber started to delaminate from the alum plate causing a small intake leak.
so I ordered 2 new intakes just to have a spare, both these new intakes were very different than the first boot any other UPP boot.
these new boots were much softer and thinner than the first, I actually like the look and feel of them because of the better vibration isolation for the carb.
well after only 1 day at the Dyno which was about 50 pulls I found that the boot had torn this time but was bonded to the alum plate.
i was racing the next weekend so I threw the spare on and crossed my fingers that it would hold up will it did for about a day and part of another before it also was torn.
so after that I talked with cp and they credited me for them and I actually switched to the oval style they stocked for the oval CPC carbs since I was running a 52 and 56 carb it fit tight enough and has been very durable.
If CP sends you the thinner softer rubber style send them back or they will fail very quickly.
