How do I add weight to my cr250 flywheel? Will the flywheel weight from ebay work?

The ones I have used, thread on the end of the crankshaft. You remove the nut and normally the washer also.
the flywheel has a tool that bolts onto the face of it and you turn it with a square drive on your ratchet wrench.
after it has been screwed on tight( I recommend a few more pounds over what Honda specs) then you tighten 4 small set screws to prevent it from loosening. Remove the tool and you are done.

I'm not sure how the cr 250 ignition cover compares to the TRX 250r one, but this is what Steahly says about the different weight sizes.

According to their info, the 10oz fits fine but the 12 and 14oz ones require a little grinding for clearance. Does anyone know how these 2 ignition covers compare? Perhaps they are the same.

the one bike in our group has the biggest or second biggest steahly cr250 thread on flywheel weight and it does not hit the stock cover

the picture from ebay is a msr and I have never used those, those seam to use the stock flywheel nut and probably a couple of set screws to keep it from rotating during use. I think either design will work equally well

Im curious about this as well. I would like to upgrade to a CR ignition setup but it doesnt seem like it would go well with my XC setup. I need the heavier flywheel weight to get around in the tight areas.

I think I'm going to try this as well. The cr 250 igntion definitely made the powerband and bit more violent and instantaneous, maybe a little too much for it's own good.

i just did a quick search and found this thread. i just got the ignition and havent used it yet. it will be a few more weeks until my bike will be back together. the small size of the flywheel caught me off guard lol. im kinda curious as to what it will be like without the weight so ill give it a try buy i still wanted to source the weight. so sounds like 10 or 12 oz is what it looks like everybody is using.

I did notice a difference with my 10 oz weight from stealthy. It seemed to work good with my 310 pv. I am about to sell it and try a 14 ounce since I went up to a 363 big bore.

I have a Steahly 14 oz and it fits in the stock cover.
