I have my motor top end pulled apart, it is a 1985 ATC250R motor by vin.  I am thinking about having it ported at the same time I have it bored.  Any recomendations as to who to send it to?

Thanks,

If your stock cylinder needs a bore piston and port job, you might consider ESR's 310 Cylinder Kit (http://www.eddie-sanders-racing.com/product_p/310%20cylinder%20kit.htm) for $600.  I like to choose a builder based on the type of riding - what type of riding do you do?  Some to consider are LED Performance, Nate McCoy, Bubby Ramsey, Pete @ Hybrid Engineering, Neil @ C-Leigh Racing, and Jerry Hall.

I second that^^^^^

Also I will throw out Brandon @ Wildcard Racing in Utah. Great quality work at a reasonable price.

Most of my riding is trail and woods, but I do plan a couple of trips out to little sahara.  But that is far and few between.

I see you posted this on .net also.I would be wary of there recommendations for bdt, anyone that can speak truthfully about there work has been banned from the site.If you profess your love for bdt you can stay on .net,but if you say anything bad,you will be banned

Id recommend jerry hall(HPR) out in AZ, he does amazing work. He will tell straight up. No bdt bs where they claim 2 hp more than any other builder but won't produce a dyno sheet and I'm of the ones who was dumb enough to believe the bs on .carlos and drop 5500 on sphynx motor. What did I get a broke base stud bolt 2 different times. Bdt is a joke and Scawn is a paid advertiser for them.

X2  Neil ported my stock cylinder, his work is amazing and I've never heard any negative comments about his work ever.  A true asset to the 250R community.

Also agree that any off the others mentioned above would do great work as well and second Fred's comments regarding BDT.

let me ask something and maybe im incorrect and need to be set straight. some guy say the bdt engineering is second to none. since when was coc a engineer in any field, mechanical or otherwise ? either your a engineer or not, with papers and credentials. or hot air and smoke up the butt
to much power is almost enough
