I noticed this when I first got the quad. I just put new asv lever on and the clutch cable is adjusted right. Is it something internal?

I'm not really sure what's in it. The guy gave me a bottle of it but I can't remember what it is and I'm not around the quad right now.
The clutch is adjusted right and I checked the cable when I had it off it moved nice and free.

too many variables grooved basket, wrong oil, cable out of adjustment, grooved actuator, clutch is worn . Start with the easy stuff first adjust cable then go from there! Usually if all well it should be a minor adjustment.

first thing you want to do is be sure theres no severe grooving of the basket or inner hub. next thing is check the pressure plate is opening a sufficient distance. not sure if this applies to you but some aftermarket plates may be thicker than oem reuslting in a much larger stack thickness. possibly something to look into. also on the tabs of the friction and steel/aluminum plates, they can have sharp edges causing a difficulty sliding in the basket and hub grooves. ive seen people go as far as to polish these edges and contact surfaces. some fluids may cause problems in colder temps, atleast until the fluids heats up. man theres a ton of possibilities. start with the small stuff and go down the line until you figure it out

Ok thx guys I'll start by changing the fluid and try adjusting the clutch some more.
Did these quads have a pretty easy clutch say when they were new. My 05 450r is like butter and this one is not real hard to pull but it's stiffer.

A new well adjusted motion pro terminator cable with a ez pull lever and perch makes for a buttery smooth pull
