what year cr250 ign do i need

im trying to find a full cr250 ign system but im confused on what year does it have to b 01 and up I mean will 03 work there is a bunch on ebay but years are confusing.....and is the upgrade worth it.. big improvement over stock ign with dyna cdi box??? im just trying to buld best 250r I can with a medium budget..... thanks all
