Anyone use one of these? Really don't want to shell out $400 for a pw from ESR. Thanks.

The reviews are hot and cold. When these first started to come out many people were complaining the spigots were not the same spec as OEM. As of late the company seams to have addressed that issue and reviews are more positive then a year ago.

If they are supposed to be for a 86-89 trx, do the mounts have the OEM dimensions. Obviously the one in the pic won't work.

Unsure but I suspect that's a "stock" photo. I have an email in to find out for certain.

thanks for the info. Sounds like it's gonna be a dice roll, albeit an inexpensive one. Probably order one up once I get a reply from the seller on whether or not that's a stock photo, worst case scenario, I have to return it and use my ugly ass stock one.

One guy that went to modify and correct the spigot on one of these found the hole through the tank inside the spigot was small and restrictive. I believe the only way to double check would be to remove the spigot. If considering it as a stock replacement should be ok but a pwr type upgrade they are not.

So the big question is, if I'm thinking long-term, what is a good power type upgrade?

I believe cheap aftermarket rads are available. Thicker cores. This has been covered on here as well as other forums with pictures. I would roll the dice myself. If I can find the pictures I will post them in this tread

I have been running one of those for 2 years now with no issues. The spigots are angled different than stock but still fits fine. There are larger in size than oem. I had to modify my shrouds for the bigger radiator.

Sweet, thanks for the info. If I need to, removing the spigots and re welding them isn't an issue, think I'll go ahead and pop the $ for one. It's not like I'll be running in the Nationals anytime soon, lol.

Mine was very nice overall. That being said it would not fit my 87 frame. I even removed the grommets out of the lower mounts and it still would not go. It hit the rear frame rail on the bottom of the tank. The lower pegs were welded too far to the back. With a little bitchin they took and back and even payed me for my return shipping. I was bummed out that it didn't work.

The thicker one I have has the same problem red88r described. I also have a standard one the fit good. The spigots clear a laeger frame.

mine ran very good and did the job unlike my old oem honda smashed fin one...

I purchased one and raced mx with it. It is a decent factory replacement. It seems to be decently built. Make sure you purchase the year model your are looking for. The 86/87 model has the curved inlets/outlets, the 88/89 model has the straight ones. Take Note: this radiator, regardless of it's claims, does NOT cool any better than the factory radiator.
