has anyone found a turn down for an esr silencer? i want to quiet my exhaust a little bit. ive found reference to a duncan down spout fitting with little modification but i cant find where to buy one.
A bend anywhere in the stinger increases flow resistance even if it is a constant diameter mandrel bend. A turndown will add another 45 to 90 degrees of bend to the stinger / silencer flow path and always increases back pressure. If you are running a stinger that has an ID of 26.0 mm or less on an engine package that is making much over 50 hp, you may already have to much back pressure.
The big question is: Does your pipe need more restriction for the power level of your engine?
If you do not know it may cost you a piston and bore job to find out.
