Last minute jetting before track friday
« on: July 08, 2015, 02:46:33 PM »
Going to the local mx track on Friday with my new to me 330. It is going to be the first actual ride other than just trying to jet it in my yard. I just wanted some opinions because I would like to run as cool as possible being the weather is going to be in the high 80's. Here is my full set up pro x 330, v force 3 reeds, lrd adjustable pipe, air box no lid and k&n with outer wear, 38mm as bored to 39 with 52 pilot, dej needle 2nd clip from top, and 172 main. Air screw is about 1-3/4 to 2 turns out. My idle screw is bottomed out for it to idle good. Anything above the 172 it was breaking up at full throttle. Some times it takes a few kicks to start when hot but when cold and the choke usually starts first kick. I can stab the throttle from an idle and its crisp and does not bog or hesitate. On the down rev though I occasionally get a few ping sounds. Now I have never had a 2 stroke before and I know everyone says the Ping is detonation but is that included in the down rev? And occasionally the idle will hang a little high for maybe 3 seconds then come down but it is not all the time. Does this jetting sound correct? Just afraid to go out and burn up this motor.
