Howdy. Well I changed out my stator and it runs great. Broke my damn clutch lever tilting it up on its side to work on it. It's useable so I took it for a test ride. Pretty wet & muddy out there. Now I have spark when I hand crank it which I didn't have before. And it would not start in the cold. But now it kicks back something fierce. it's a real challenge to start hot. Before I could start it sitting down. Not any more man. I wish I could do something about the kick back but I don't think their is. Is there ? Switch it to stop and switch it to run right at the right time maybe. It's really annoying Any ideas ?

Did ya try pushing  the kick start  all the way down an let  it raise up about  half way than  give it a good stomp that usally  helps

I have heard this happening before on bikes that have a key way that has been smashed a little. If the flywheel has been forced by a backfire or some odd circumstance the key on the crank gets sheared/moved a little causing the timing to be off. All you have to do is pull the flywheel and inspect the key way for an odd shape or indentation. If its fine then check the pick up to see its not loose or moved.

Well that is really cool thanks. Looks like there is a remedy for my problem. I would think my ignition timing is slightly advanced by the way it acts. Could even cause detonation But I didn't hear any going on. Cant say as I've ever heard detonation on a 2 stroke engine before. Yeah this looks like something I might have to invest in. Thanks again

if everything is excellent condition and stock, then theres no way ur timing is advanced, unless something isnt quite right. i would pop the flywheel again and double check if ur key has sheared at all to throw ur timing off a bit.
