So yesterday I was a good distance from home on a good ride with a lot of people when my br9es was fouled and a kid with a 01 cr250 offered a B8EV Which I tried and my bike ran great and didn't foul again like the br9es and br8es plugs I've been trying to straighten my top end out with. I'm still running a very good condition oem ignition system and for whichever reason my motor loves this plug. I'm looking for input on using this plug because I've always only used the 2 said plugs up until now

Ran them in my banshee, no issues. It seemed to like them better then the BR series

The 9 is fine if your bike can run that cool. My motor always fouls out with the 9. I only run 8's now.

You might also try a B8ES or B9ES & see if it runs like it does with the B8EV. The BR series plug is a resistive plug & the B series isn't. I haven't fouled a plug in many years since I switched from using the BR8ES to a B8ES.

The capacitors are getting old in the OEM CDI boxes and the output voltage of some CDI boxes is not what it should be. Like mentioned in an earlier post the BR (resistor) series of plugs reduce the "RF" (interference) but your voltage to the spark plug is reduced. Gapping the spark plug at .018" to .020" will often help some of these old ignitions fire the spark plugs when the voltage sent to them is sub standard.

Resistors spark plugs and or a 5k to 10k resistor spark plug cap is often required when using digital ignitions. If the ECU on a digital ignition experiences electrical interference, it will often cause a misfire or the ignition timing is altered on the engine revolution the ECE experiences the interference.

As usual Jerry shows us how in-depth things actually are lol I was mainly concerned about this plug being ok to use with oem ignition and I got my answer I feel. I'll try br9ev probably but At least I know the 8 runs spectacular
