Wtb: Pwk 36mm or 38mm carb

Ive got a 39 pwk Im trying to sell. I upgraded engine size and went to a 41.2 carb. I bought the carb used off of a buddy who had let it sit on a shelf for a while, I ordered a genuine Keihin rebuild kit for it, so it has new gasket, float, float jet, spring etc. and ran it for nearly a year. Just pulled it off recently. Im trying to sell it for 150 and that includes shipping. Let me know if you are interested.

Man that's a good deal. I'm on a standard bore motor with a port job vforce 2's and fmf pipe I think the 39 might be overkill or no?

Its all what you want, but I ran the 39mm on a ported stocker with a cool head and trx5 pipe. Wasnt too big for me.

That was kind of a douche comment smith, Id say you had something wrong, not gonna say they arent thirsty, but I duned on my setup with that 39 running wide open most of the time and didnt burn near that much fuel. Had a 172 main in it, dont think Ive known anyone to run a 380 main either. That being said I wouldnt stick a 36 on a 125cc bike. There are countless numbers of people running 38 and 39 with fantastic results in setups all across the board. Plenty of diagnostic information for either carb with tons of jetting info. To the OP, if it were me and I were wanting to buy new Id get a 38mm and wouldnt look back, perfect all around carb. If I were wanting to get used Id wait for a good deal on a 38 or 39.

fwiw,  38mm was standard on a lot of 250cc dirtbikes, so it's definately not too big of a carb.   also a 380 main makes me think it was a mikuni carb, not keihin.  jet sizes are measured differently between the manufacturers.

IMO a 38mm on a fairly stock trx engine is great for low end to somewhere around 3/4 throttle, and not the best at WOT.   But that statement is highly opinionated, and not necessarily a bad thing depending on riding style and terrain.

I had a 39 pwk on a ported stock cylinder and it ran great but I lost a lot of bottom end. I really didn't like it trail riding.

38 or 39 both will work fine. also opening up the other side with a decent pipe like a trx5 will really wake it up.
