I've thought of doing a few local practices for the fun of it! However, I've noticed that hardly any 250r's are seen out there.. Whats up with that?

they're 30 yrs old, most young folks dont even know what a 250r is unless they had someone teaching them about 80s bikes.
no kidding i was at the local riding area one day i had a kid same age as me (late 20s) say "dang that must have been alot of work to put that dirt bike motor in that 450 frame!"
i just laughed and said ya it was xD.

Jesse pretty much sums it up.... A few years ago when Salem Honda was still in business they had a 19yr old kid behind the counter. I told him I was looking for parts for my 86 TRX250R & he didn't know what that was, thought I was talking about a cr250. Once I even had a guy at the dunes say "that's a nice banshee, how did you get one with single exhaust?"

Lol these are great.  Fortunately, I have never had the pleasure of hearing such questions!

One time I was riding with some people and a guy riding a rzr asked me "what is that ping ping thing".  I nearly spit out my water laughing.  I don't think he had ever heard a 2 stroke.
