I don't currently run a tmx but have been wanting to try one ever since I messed with the one on my friends 01 CR. The bike was stored at my place for awhile & I had free use of it but never rode it because it ran like crap with the factory jetting. Finally rebuilt the carb & did a tune up but it would pull good, fall flat than rip your arms off even after doing pilot, main & needle adjustments. After looking up info on it finally found something on a dirt bike forum somewhere mentioning going to a leaner S-8 needle jet. Coming from Keihin's I never messed with a needle jet. Picked up a replacement S-9, a few S-8's & S-7 needle jets from jets-r-us & put an S-8 in the tmx on the CR along with a 400 main. Can't remember what pilot but seems like it was a 32.5. First test ride I was blown away how much of a difference it made in power delivery. There was more everywhere & it was a much smoother more predictable power curve. The tmx being a flat slide will have better throttle response & a little more torque down low than the D slide pwk. Looking forward to getting a tmx to try on my R soon along with a few other things.
