I bought a bottle of Maxima castor 927 today and plan on riding Durhamtown Plantation next weekend. Im a little nervous because the last time I ran castor (15 years ago) I sent the rod through the crank case. I will admit I was young and didnt know all the little things you have to do to keep a 2-stroke engine running correctly, but none the less im worried. I plan on mixing 32-1 with 93 octane. My piston is .5 bigger than stock so i dont see the need in 110. I just want some reassurance in using this product. Dont need to rejet?? It runs fantastic right now. Thanks!!

I've used it for a number of years in my suzuki quadracers without any problems. I mix 32:1 with a 50/50 mix of nonethenol premium and race gas.

I wouldn't be worried about it. Castor 927 is all I have used, never had a seize or any kind of engine damage or breaks using it

Just remember to keep the throttle moving (try not stay at 3/4 throttle for extended periods of time if possible), don't engine brake when possible and have it jetted correctly

I think it is one of the best oils. Used it in drag bikes for a few years and always had good results. Just watch the temperature that is where you run into trouble. Anything lower than 32 degrees and the oil will separate. Also make sure you take whatever oil you run currently in the bike and drain every bit out. Even take the tank off. I had a synthetic oil mixed with the gas and I just drained the tank and there was still some old gas and oil sitting in humps of the tank. I poured the 927 in and I believe it separated due to the old oil and gas.

I like the 927 because it mixes with just about any type of gas. I have been mixing up small batches of e85 for a motor and it even mixes well in it.

I will be riding mostly trails so im not going to be on the pipe very much, short bursts. What is the keep time on the gas i dont use next weekend? 1 week, 1 month etc.

If you have your jetting correct you should not have a problem with it loading up or fouling plugs.

Hey man i wish I was going back to Durhamtown. I've been running 927 since 97 and that's the only pre mix I have ever used and never had a problem. But like derby said below 32 it will separate.

Castor 927 is all I have ever run in my two strokes and I have never had a problem with it and I always run a 40:1 ratio.

I ran it in all y R's but one, I switched to klotz r50 cause I read good things about it. I'm now back to 927, because I used it with alky on my last bike and just stuck back to it. I've heard several builders mention that they notice the engine isn't clean, like gunk or something from the 927. Is that from all castors? They say it doesn't burn real clean. I like it so I continue to use it.

Use it, like it. Tried others in past but seems to be one of the best out there. Shake the tank/can well in low temps.

927 is all I run in my 2-stroke bikes...I even use it in my weedeater LOL. There isn't anything to be worried about when switching to it.

It doesn't matter what bore you're on as far as what oil or type of gas to run. What truly matters is how many lbs of compression you're running.

The 927 had nothing to do with your previous engine malfunction

927 is all I use for two stroke premix. IMO, best bean oil out there.

Your rod going out and the fact that you ran castor oil had no connection, we run klotz bean oil well below freezing with no separation and I leave castor oil premixed for weeks with no problems.

Nothing wrong with castor 927 ,I've ran it before on my R and banshee,but I switched to klotz super
I've found 927 to seperate in the heat of California
My uncle runs clear lines on his banshee and it sat in the garage all summer ,winter came
Usually when my sits ,ill shake the bike before starting ,he didn't and when he turned the pet cock switch the lines turned pure 927 color
Seemed to me that the fuel seperated from the 927
And it was 110 race gas
