I can't believe I missed this whole thread...

My cousin (rough250r) and I are planning to make the trip. We're both pumped to get out, ride the dunes and meet up with a bunch of fellow R guys!

Anyone who is considering (dan & Troy) should really try to go.  It'd be great to finally meet and put faces with the names of so many I already consider friends and have known for many years now. Let's ride and drink some beers and make this one hell of an ORGy!!

Im in for sure. Have a group of 4 planned. may camp unless we get a great group rate for cabins by mark

Unfortunately not Sam. They are down the road outside the state park and parking lot. You have to trailer in every day which is the parking lot voucher challenge. Unless... you have a ride on (dune ready) which could be a licensed street vehicle that can actually go right on the dunes. Many will put their quad in the bed of their truck and drive right on eliminating the parking lot.

Kewl! I'd be afraid of getting the dually stuck lol
I figured I'll just show up with me truck an trailer and have all you guys to guide me...I'm sure I'll be in good hands with yawl! lol
When I camp I usually just sleep in my trailer anyways. So really all I need is overnights parking/camping area.

Pretty sure I'm coming up solo unless I can convince a friend to come with.

We will get more detailed as we get closer.

bumping this up.  question for you guys: is it too early to book accommodations?  what are our choices for campgrounds if we choose that route?

thanks

Hey Joe, it is never too early! I would actually suggest booking. The state park is nice, Yogi Bear is better, then if you really want to step your game up and stay at a resort, silver creek rv resort. There is also SIlver lake Resort and Campground. Here are some links.

Can you camp out at the dunes or does it close and need to re-enter everyday?
