Setting up a charge, refill for shocks

Does anyone have a simple diagram of how the regulator and fill hose is setup. I know there is a trick to it but need to know where the bleed knob goes. Any links to the question would be appreciated or your setup and how it works.

You bleed the existing shock by removing the schrader valve. Or were you talking about bleeding the air out in order to fill with nitrogen after filling it with oil?

The system is usually setup with a bypass so after checking the old charge you can put what has been lost back in.

You don't need to bleed off anything. Just fill it back up if its low or let the gas out and start over

In the times that I observed shocks being serviced, the air was never bled out. The shock body was filled up with oil then sealed off. The reservoir was then filled to the top with oil, then capped off leaving no room for air. The shock was then charged to the proper pressure with nitrogen. With the right tools, it was fairly simple.

Shocks don't get the nitrogen directly on top of the oil. It goes in a separate bladder inside the reservoir. Draining the nitrogen does not drain the oil.

Refill or top off nitrogen pressure.

the local shop near me charges 40$ to check an recharge shocks . an here is the bad part of this that happend .the shock shaft was worn an didn't hold the charge an they still charged me 40 $. so i am interested to know what it cost to build your own kit vs buying a complete kit an maybe a lil parts sheet if ya could.

worn shock shaft has no effect on nitrogen charge,,  bad shaft will let the oil out,, not the nitrogen,,

yes what kasey said! the nitrogen is in a separate section and is not in direct contact with the shock oil.
