Pumashine thanks for the Gusset kit looks great and have a question. I am wanting to put 450r foot pegs on my 1987 250r. I could make the brackets my self but I would have to cut them with a torch so that would weaken the steel. Could you make me a set I know you can't get the 250r pegs any were but you can get 450r pegs every where. I could post some pics with what I am looking to do if you are interested thanks

Yes, lets do it. Post a pic and I will cut you some beefy mounts. Have been wanting to do this for awhile. I have both quads so they will bolt up like OEM

Ok here is some pics looks like it will work great. From what I mocked up pegs will set in the same place of the factory peg on the front side. You will have a choice on what height you want. I am a tall guy so I want mine to set a little lower. 450r foot peg mount are staggered so you can lower them by 1/2 in or stock height.

Tony if you need some Pegs to use I would send these out to you. They are new take offs I got off eBay for $16 shiped. Thanks for the help I know I am not the only one looking for a foot peg option for the 86 and 87.

So we are looking at making a plate to bolt up to the existing holes. Using one hole from the 450 foot peg to bolt the peg in the frame. Another hole in the front to bolt up the front bolt hole of the 450 peg. So 3 holes total. The rear hole bolts the bracket to the frame. The middle hole bolts the rear hole of the 450 peg to the bracket and frame, A front hole to bolt the front of the 450 peg to. Is this what you are thinking?

Yeah, you would be able to lower the whole peg that way since you are not using the stock mounting location. Outlaw525 is this what you were talking about when lowering them 1/2" for tall people?

The bracket in the pic is what I am looking for. You get the 1/2 in lower by the 450r pegs having a off set bolt patern. One bolt on the pegs are 1/2 in lower than the other bolt. If you switch them from one side or the other you get a 1/2 in drop or factory location. Bracket will have to be drilled different for each one. From the pic it looks like the bling star pegs are higher than the factory 450r pegs.

This pic? There are 2 sets of holes in this bracket. Your original pic showed one of the holes on the 450 pegs lining up with the frame. So 4 holes with one set 1/2" lower for the pegs to bolt to?

Pegs

Want them just like you said. Rear upper bolt just throught the bracket and in frame. Next bolt throught peg then bracket and then frame. Last bolt in peg then bracket with a nut on back. Would end up with 3 hold in bracket. On the 3rd hole you can drill it ether 1/2 in hi or low and then the gets could be dropped 1/2 in from factory by switching the pegs from left to right side or right to left side. Look at the pick of the pegs I have thanks. Pegs are off of a 04/05 450r

Ok then, I will start making up some brackets. What thickness do you think they need to be? The ones Douglas made up are 1/4". The stock pegs use a 3/8" plate

I would use the 3/8 or 1/2. But if 3/8 has held up for 20 some years it will work for another 20 or as long as I can find parts for the old girl
