So I parked my quad about 10 years ago when I started my business, and I've missed riding it everyday since.  This last fall, I made the last Supercross practice session of the season at my local track just to make sure I wasn't kidding myself, and I wasn't...it's still just as fun as I remember.  Now it's time to get back into the loop and take care of a few issues on my quad if I'm going to start riding in earnest again, but finding parts has been a bit of a challenge.  That said, my quad is a 2000-ish narrow Laeger Pro-Trax with the CR500 link rear and an old-school big-bore CT350 engine.

I'm chasing a few issues with the front brakes and ignition, so it's time to sit down and spend some quality time with the search button.  I rebuilt the front MC prior to riding it due to corrosion which gave me a good lever again, and though the calipers appear a bit rough, they seemed to be okay functionally, but they're definitely not grabbing like I remember so I must be mistaken.  As I was trying to figure out the brakes, my coil wire failed at the spark plug cap, so that's now on the to-do list as well.  I'm not sure if I'm going to swap ignitions to the CR stuff which I've just started researching, or just replace the coil, any thoughts?

I'll post up some pictures with her clothes on when I get a chance.  Any thoughts on BRM graphics kits?  I've got new Maier 1-piece fronts and rears, so now would be the time before I scratch them up any more than I already have. ~Tobin

Nice bike! Cr ignition is good if you feel like spending the money. I've never heard negative from anyone that's running it.

Thanks for the positive comments...it's a pretty sweet quad. I highly recommend the Pro-Trax if you can find/build one, but I honestly haven't ridden that many of the modern 4-strokes or other aftermarket chassis', so I don't have a lot to compare it to.  I started on a Blaster when I was 13 or so, and while it was a great starter quad given what was available at the time, I quickly outgrew it and upgraded to an '88 250R in 1992 which I rode and raced for the next 9-10 years or so.  I still wish I'd never sold that quad, but I couldn't afford to keep both it and the Laeger, so I re-homed it and tried not to look back.

I see that the 2000-2001 analog CR ignition seems to be the preferred option, but it also seems to be discontinued through Honda leaving NOS or used as the only option.  I was kinda hoping to go with something that would not only be higher performance, but also have better availability.  What's the downside to the 2002+ CR ignitions if someone doesn't mind edumacating me?

Search in the technical section, under the sub-forum, ignition. Some great info.

Welcome back Apogee. I got great results with BRM Graphics. My needs were very simple though. I just went on their site and found something I thought I might like and asked them to email me a pic of what they would look like on the R in the colors I wanted. After seeing that I asked them to change one stripe to a different color. Bada Boom Bada Bing. I didn't ask for sponsor logos or anything like that. They'll even make just one part of the kit if you need. I had a good experience.

There's a full 2000/2001 cr250 ignition on eBay right now for $400 I think. That's a good deal, they normally go for $500 ish

Thanks for the insight, I think I'll give them a try.  They've been very responsive and helpful via email thus far, so it's nice to hear that your experience went smoothly as well.

Thanks, but it looks like I just missed that one.  I'll keep my eyes peeled and I'm sure something will turn up.  It seems like they come up on the forums here occasionally as well as Ebay, but suggestions to any other sources I should be watching are always much appreciated.

Just keep looking, one will pop up eventually.  I was patient and picked one up off eBay a few days ago for $350. I couldn't click " by now" fast enough!! Haha
