My PayPal and my debit card are linked to my bank account that is filled from my hard work 40+ hours a week. Just because people have direct deposit and like to buy stuff online doesn't mean they don't pay their mortgage or spend money on their kids. I think u paint a broad brush on anyone who chooses plastic as their main source of payment. What's the difference between that and a check or money order. they both get drawn directly from the same account. I do get what you are saying about handling your business first. You don't even want to know what my cheerleeding/swim team/gymnastics bill looks like lol

I know that you can afford to play. I am not insinuating that everyone that uses plastic is borrowing money that is not currently in their account, but applies to some. Even when someone has cash in their pocket or money in their checking account does not mean they can afford to spend the money with me.
As a customer is picking up his stuff and paying his bill in
cash I hear his wife mumbling to him that we needed to have the washing machine repaired or we needed a new refrigerator more than you needed to have the lower end rebuilt and your cylinder ported.
A customer picks up his stuff and writes a check and leaves. A few minutes later he comes back into the shop and ask if I have any jumper cables, and can i give him a jump. I hear one of his kids asking him why he has to keep asking people to help him start our car.
A customer pay his bill and ask if I can help him load his bike. We go outside to load his bike and I see his vehicle leaking coolant and I call his attention to the leak. He says he knows it is leaking and has been leaking for some time but does not want to spend the money on it yet.
I could write a book filled with similar stories. I have seen the above happen more times than I can count.
