I figure that I can get this machine running and set up pretty darn good for me for about the price of a new 450.  And I dont want a new 450.  This is going to be my go to machine for doing everything...trails...dunes....just for ripping around in the open fields....a do it all quad.  Not really after the bling factor at this time but that may come later.....

Just stripping the stock frame down right now and transferring parts.  Got the a arms bolted on now and working on the rear swingarm also but have to heli coil the hole for the chain slider so that has to wait until tomorrow to be put on.  Still saving my pennies for some front shocks and real foot pegs/nerf bars.  I am currently busy tuning in my Neil ported 330 in my other quad getting it ready for silver lake end of september.  That motor is a big difference from a 310......lots more bottom end which I need because I am a pretty big guy.....

Another nice build going on here.  I will have to make the trip when you guys all head to Silverlake and meet all you Michigan riders.  So are you going to have two complete R's when you are done?

I hope I will, but I think supernutt has a couple already.

Going to have 2 complete quads and a lot of parts for them.  did some more work to them this week.  Working on tearing apart the parts quad and transferring parts.  Swingarm is on.  Have to make bolt for upper shock yet.  Needed front a arm bolts off other quad and now those are on here also.  Coming along slowly but it is coming along.

Put the rear subframe on, got the front brake hoses situated, tires are on to push it around for now.  Now I need to come up with some front shocks and the motor cant go in it until at least end of september because I need it in my other quad for silver lake.  My 310 for my other quad needs a top end rebuild yet.

Got some good news yesterday.  Shocks are finally done and should be on the way.  Also 310 cylinder is done and should be back shortly.  Then I can go further on this project.

That is great news man, I'm curious what all they had to do to those shocks nutty.

Shocks are finally here and they are on!!

Also put the backup motor in for now....and got it running...If I have time I will take it for a short spin today and see what i think of it!! I know the motor is nothing special as of now but I am more concerned how it handles..I have never ridden an aftermarket framed quad before....Ride height seems to be pretty close at 7 1/2 in front and around 7 1/4 by foot pegs.  Now I am debating on what to do for foot pegs.  I see alba makes some really nice pegs nerfs heel guards all in one which is pretty close to what i want but i am concerned that the foot pegs get moved OUTWARD so far with the way they attach.  Anyone else have some suggestions for pegs/nerfs/heel guards?  Thanks.

See if ac still makes the pro peg nerfs with the heel guard for the 88 89 r and get those or check with rath racing bud.

But this is not a pro peg frame?  I see they sell adapters to mount them to the original footpeg holes in the frame but I personally think that moves the footpeg and the nets too far outward.  A/C would probably mount the same as the alba ones?  I would like something that is in the same position as the factory 88/89 pegs and also has a nerf bar/heel guard built in?  Maybe what I am asking for has never been made for a reason...
