every one is painting and powder coating there bikes. but you can now get line X in colors, good idea or not?

Bad. It is heavy and hard to clean.

I agree with rupp too heavy and course for cleaning and sliding on stuff. Hard to beat powder coat for our use.

Have you thought about doing a frame american opel ? The OP wants to know if it is a good or bad idea?

the lineX idea sounds allot like the Plastidip you can get in a spray can, I know allot of people use it to black out emblems and even wheels with great results

I know the powdercoater I take my stuff to does this "textured" PC and it's much more durable and resistant to chipping than standard PC

My Liger bike has the wrinkle finish black like Harley Davidson does on thier motors and I love the look and its durability

powdercoat is a laquer base product.thay is re activated by heat.if you sanded it down,put some thinner in it,you will have paint again.most people like powdercoat because it's easy to get alot of mills at once.it's not stronger than 2 part,just usually thicker so it wears better.

typical plasitics scratch fairly easy and is especially noticable on anything besides white, what is you thoughts on scratches with the poly? and can they be buffed out like normal plastics

I Plastidipped my Mazda 3 and my wifes CX-9. First time using it and I am happy with the results.

Hmmm you might be able to fill that FULLBORE order everyone has been tryin' to fill!

How well do you think they'll stand up to abuse ? Can you sand and polish them smooth ? You might be onto something good!

I think it would be hard to recreate a stock style fender but meyers 1 piece front race fenders have no supports built in them and I would think would be easy to copy.
