Gigot Performance - Slingshot Lockup Clutch 250r

I buy these whenever they pop up. Dealer cost is over $300.  I have never experienced a lag between the transition from fiber to lockout grip.

These are for motors with over 50-60 HP. A clutch will only last 1 season on a Puma. They keep the clutch from loosing engagement or clutch slip as most put it. So your looking at any time you get to 1/2- 3/4 throttle for hook up.

not like a reklus, they do not disengage the clutch they only ad clamping power, but you must remove 1fiber and 1 plate to allow for it to fit under the side cover. Tony can better explain mods needed since I have only ran it on a cr500
Anyone looking for a great builder I highly recommend the following.
For CP products dealers I would recommend:
Arlan at LED(site sponsor), Pete Schemberger at Hybrid Engineering, Mat Shearer at Shearer Custom Pipes, Dennis Packard at Packard Racing, and Nate McCoy of McCoys Peformance.

Other great builders I also would recommend: Neil Prichard, Jerry Hall, Bubba Ramsey and James Dodge.

Yes, remove 1 fiber and 1 plate. You must have the 89 clutch update with it. Sometimes the seller sends it along but not with new. Usually a .010" shim comes with it for the washer at the end of the push rod bearing bearing. It it is recommended to use the heavy duty barnet clutch springs. Oh wait, that could just be my recommendation. It comes with the 5 allen head bolts. I always replace them with the stainless version. You want to assemble off the bike as you need to keep all the ball bearings in place. *Hint is to tighten the bolts up evenly. Some guys just want to use 2 bolts with an impact wrench. then tighten the other 3 freely. Very dangers as you can strip the inner hub and ruin the part it just cost you $100 to have modified.

uhhhhhhhhhh  did you go to that website??  there is like 2 sentences there that provide no information and thus why I posted my question...  :black_eyed:

:smile-new:

so i dont get it.  the clutch is slipping so you remove clutches???  seems counter-intuitive to me!!  why not use the 9pack hinson clutch?  guess it doesnt work, or else you would be using it.   this must be an issue for 250r and banshees, as I dont have any issues with my built zilla motors slipping the clutch or only lasting a season of riding. they just snap the fingers off the basket instead :culpability:

The manufacturer is usually best suited to answer any and all questions you have. :friendly_wink:

You remove a clutch plate so this can fit inside the cover.  Lockups apply more pressure to the pressure plate as RPM increases.  The more pressure on the pressure plate, the less the clutch slips.

Yes, bigger motors have larger diameter clutch plates and have more gripping strength. The 250r was only engineered for 40HP. When yo double that the clutch slips. You don't use all the friction plates when riding. Only the outside ones are working and when under load the inner ones start holding. So when your just riding around you don't need all the friction disks. Then when under load the lockout takes over. I am guessing you just don't understand how the clutch operates!
