Yeah that's nice, I should have waited an bought something nice like that, instead it looks like I might keep what I got and put too much money in it.

thanks guys.. I got it from a friend of mine here in bakersfield... she hasn't ridden it in over a year.. and before that it was in pieces... she was the second owner... when I went to her house to see it, it was really dirty and wouldn't start.. she told me I can take it home and clean it out and get it started before I make my decision.. sooo that's what I did.. cleaned out the carbs dumped and cleaned the tank and added fresh fuel... put new plugs in it and started on the 3rd kick... took it to a friends house and borrowed some dirt tires and rode it up and down the street to make sure the tranny shifted fine.. and of course it did!! :)  as for the mods go... stock cylinder... stock crank... it has stage 3 trinity porting... 35mm pwk's.. CPI pipes... LSR a-arms, anti-vibe stem, axle... unknown +4 swinger... drag cut wheels F/R... 8 paddle haulers... smoothies up front and billet everywhere... dyno chart from trinity shows it made about 75hp...  alllllll that for $2000 with title :Boobies2:

Those cpi pipes are junk, and the 22 inch haulers.... you should probably just swap me for my t5s and my 21" haulers. They would work better for you. lol

But in reality that was a heck of a deal you got.

Are you going to build a cub or put the work into your stock cylinders?

im probably going to stay with my stock cylinders and send them to either Packard, k&t, or shearer and match it up with a 4mill or 7mill crank..  not sure yet lol

It is going to be difficult to get 90 to 100 hp  modifying Yamaha OEM cylinders, using a big stroker crank and expecting it to stay together very long!

ill have to agree with jerry. them big numbers are a tall order. i picked up some used banshee parts off ebay to build up a dummy engine to experiment with. after looking at everything it seems the stock cylinder will need alot of work. doesnt help that they were designed  25 or more years ago. the cylinder and crankcase design isnt all that great so thats working against you as well. if you have the cash your better off with some of calvins cylinders.  for now ill be using oem cylinders only because i just like working on stuff in the garage but sometime down the road ill end up with some cubs. honestly im not even sure its worth the time and effort to mess with these oem cylinders but im gonna give it a shot anyways. hopefully its not a complete waste of time
